  Our experience here has been horrible. They have taken my intelligent, loving, curious, creative, happy little grandson and turned him into a sad little boy with self-esteem problems. Their staff, in particular his "teacher" Lilly, have no apparent interest in nurturing creativity, challenging kids academically or helping kids set and achieve goals. Instead she has relegated him to the back of the room near the door and ignored him. If she could have tied him up and duck-taped his mouth I am sure she would have. She has no clue how to deal with or help kids and in my opinion should choose a different line of work. Their communication with parents is less than adequate. We have had to call and email and practically beg for information concerning his progress. There is poor classroom and playground supervision. He got in "trouble" once for helping someone move a box just outside the classroom. How is it that she was not aware of his absence from the classroom for several minutes? What does she think will happen when she seats him right next to the back door and ignores him? The teacher hides behind her desk and is not engaged with the kids (or family). She humiliated my grandson in front of other kids and their parents by telling him he could not attend "fun day" after having sent home a permission slip the day before. When questioned, she said it was because of some vague, nebulous behavior problem (i.e., being a 6 year old boy) from the day before that she had neglected to mention to him or his parents!. He was in tears after having been looking forward to and excited about going and had to sit in an office all day while the other kids went to "fun day".She even had the audacity to keep the requested fun day supplies brought in by his mom! I think she is passive-aggressive with kids she does not like. I even think she sets him up in situations that she knows will get him into "trouble". The "school" does not the children's best interests at heart which should be their main focus. I would NEVER recommend this poor excuse for a "school" to anyone. I will complain about it to anyone who will listen, and I hope they get shut down. These are my own opinions based on things I have seen there and personally been involved with.

  My experience at The one Room School House has been good but also bad. It was good because we had an amazing principal and P.E coach. The bad part is the teachers where horrible they did nothing but argue with the students and deny everything they ask. My opinion is that you should not go to One Room.
