  No accountability, incompetent, dishonest! 7/8 Feb: Started online and saw and advance available for in store. Quick file with w-2’s and left 2016 to be filed by them the next day. At home realized i forgot a 1099g and loss on investment property sale. Also called the card given and, after talking to an operator, found the advance form was not submitted. At first I was told I could come the following day in to do the corrections. unfortunately i had a job 2 hours out for the next few days and wanted to come in the next free day. At this point I was told not worry about it and that I should wait three weeks for the IRS to flag my return, or, maybe, hopefully accept it. Went in person my next day off because i wanted to get the corrections in asap and they have a sign that says walk ins welcome. i finally talked them into letting me see a senior preparer. This preparer confirmed that I likely would get flagged for an audit and it should be resolved soon. But then he wanted to state that it would cost over $400 to make corrections and that he wasn’t into talking about it unless i could pay that day. he was very calm in tone but his words were disrespectful throughout. i was dine coming back when i could afford it but then he wanted to continue this circular logic type thing where he said “we would have asked you if you had unemployment or sold a house.” to this i responded, but i wasn’t, but that fine probably would have not EZ then anyways. yet again he said we would have asked. to this i say you could have; and don’t appreciate being told I am lying about something like no matter how nice your tone. why would i call back the same day to get it corrected. i think he was upset that i made a casual observation that if I’de have continued it online and not have been tempted by the refund advance then i would have been asked the questions while filing. One last point, they have sign that says walk-ins welcome. but drive there and they want to give you an appointment for another day each time ... even though each time if you ask if someone is available in the next 10 - 30 they say yes and seat you! In conclusion, incompetent in the execution of their job, confrontational when they think you might know this, unaccountable for their faults, and apparently charging an arm and leg way above others for amendments. (I did an amendment elsewhere a few years back, double checked my file today, and it only cost $75!
